Why Joomla + Edward
Joomla has had a proper content API since version 4, which is exactly why bolting a JavaScript widget onto it makes no sense. Edward writes into Joomla itself, so the posts behave like the rest of your site — themed, categorised, searchable, and yours if you ever switch Edward off.
How it works
Connect in three steps.

Switch on two core plugins.
In System → Plugins, enable “Web Services - Content” and “User - Joomla API Token”.

Copy your API token.
Open your user profile, go to the Joomla API Token tab, and paste the token into Edward with your site URL.

Pick your category.
Edward reads the categories off your site — choose one and publishing begins on your cadence.
FAQ
Questions, answered.
- Do I need to install an extension?
- No. The Web Services API ships with Joomla core — you just switch on two plugins in System → Plugins: “Web Services - Content” (usually already on) and “User - Joomla API Token”.
- Where does the API token come from?
- Joomla mints it for you. Open your user profile, go to the Joomla API Token tab, and copy it. By default only Super Users can create one, so use a Super User account or grant the right via the token plugin's options.
- Which category do posts go in?
- Whichever you choose. Edward reads the published categories on your site and lets you pick one — it files every post there and skips anything unpublished, so posts never land somewhere invisible.
- What if I can't enable the API?
- Some hosts don't route /api/ without Joomla's .htaccess rewrite rules. If that's your setup, Edward also offers a paste-in blog widget that needs no API at all — one Custom HTML module and you're live.
- Can I review posts before they go live?
- Yes. Choose “create unpublished” and each post lands in Joomla for you to review. If you use a content workflow, posts enter its starting state and Edward keeps them as drafts until you approve them.
